Landeyjahöfn and Ferry FAQ

We get alot of question regarding Landeyjahöfn and the ferry, so we decided to put them in one good FAQ for you.

-Do I need to book tickets with the ferry in advance

It is always better to book your tickets to Westman Islands in advance. The island is "buzzing" in the summertime and we have alot of big events taken place on the islands.

If you want to bring  your car over you should always book in advance since it is very common that the ferry is fully booked for cars.

If you are travelling without a car and not sure which ferry ride you can catch it is always an option to show up and buy tickets (but the ferry can also be sold out for people, that happens mainly around the big weekends we have which you can see a list of here)

-Can i use your tickets to enter the ferry

Our tickets are more like vouchers. You will hand that confirmation to service desk in Landeyjahöfn and they will give you a boarding pass. Please show up 30 minutes before each departure
