This tour takes you from Reykjavik across the southern lowlands of Iceland to Landeyjahöfn harbour and with a ferry to Vesmannaeyjar / Westman Island where a local guide will take you around Heimaey island.
It starts by a pick-up and you will drive from Reykjavik across the south of Iceland around 07:30
When arriving in Landeyjahöfn you will take the 09:45 ferry to Westman Islands where you can see sea birds along the way
When you arrive in Westman Islands around 10:15 there is a boat cruise where you'll explore colourful ocean cave's, watch thousands of sea birds and, if in luck, a groups of whales. Returning from the boat tour, you get to enjoy instrumental music in the natural echo of the ocean cave Klettshellir.
After your lunch break you will get a bus tour around the Westman Islands. You will visit the puffin nesting area in Stórhöfði (windiest place in Europe) promontory and get to walk up to the crater of mountain Eldfell volcano where it all started, the eruption 1973 as well as exploring the flora of the new lava field.
Around 16:00 the bus will stop at Eldheimar museum where you will get access to the museum to learn everything about the eruption in Heimaey 1973 in a unique way and something you won't forget
By this time you have a little free time, you can visit other museum, walk around the town or hike on the volcanic mountains. The bus will leave from Eldheimar around 17:00, at the harbour, You will have to arrive at the harbour
The ferry takes you back to the mainland, where our bus is waiting to take you back to Reykjavik.
